Craft Mentorship Immersion
This is an offering to join me for a half or full day on the Western edge of Dartmoor and immerse yourself in this lineage of Ancestral Craft.
Our time together will be a co-created dance between us and the Land. Depending on the season, the weather and your dreams for the day- we will focus on spinning, weaving and natural dying- outside in nature, surrounded by wild tors, ancient Oaks and flowing rivers.
This is an invitation to deepen into these practises, or learn them for the first time. I have apprenticed myself to the land here and these crafts for 7 years and am honoured to guide you through these sacred Ways.
A generous testimonial from Cadence Mofat who wove with me on the Moors a Summer ago:
‘I was blessed to join Rose for a day of weaving on Dartmoor. From the first pass of the shuttle, I could feel the ancestors moving through my hands. Rose offered gentle yet clear guidance throughout our time together. Her wise and loving heart shone through every moment. It was truly a magical experience. Furthermore, it was the catalyst for a life-long passion for weaving, a return to the ways of the ancient grandmothers that will continue to inform my journey with this sacred craft. I am so grateful to Rose for sharing her passion and wisdom with me. It is such a treasured gift!’
Some practicalities and what to expect:
- A half day usually lasts for around 3-4 hours and is suitable for those who find they learn well in shorter focused sessions. This time frame would allow us to focus on either spinning or weaving- with the possibility to include natural dying.
- A full day usually lasts for around 6-8 hours and is suitable for those who wish to drop into all aspects of the craft, or weave a bigger piece. A simple lunch is provided, as well as home grown herbal teas.
- My in-person sessions fuse the ritual elements of making with the practical components of developing skill, combined with Story, Song, Embodiment and Nature Connection processes.
- In a half day you could weave a small piece of cloth, create some spun yarn, or focus on deepening on one part of the process.
- Over a full day you could weave a larger piece, focus on spinning, dying and indeed deepen parts of the practise that most resonate.
- I am very happy to answer any questions you may have around the tools, materials and your future with the Craft during our time together
- If the weather is wet, it’s still possible for us to work outside. And my small home studio space is also available as an alternative.
- I live near to the village of Walkhampton on the Western edge of Dartmoor, Devon and can advise on places to camp/stay nearby.
- If money is a barrier for you and you would like to discuss concession prices, alternative exchange options, payment plans or sharing your day with a friend to reduce costs, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
There is the option to pay a deposit for your day. This is a way to secure our time together, and is non-refundable. I will ask for the rest of the full payment 2 weeks before our time, and if you need to cancel or change the date that can be arranged.
Once you book, we will discuss the dates and timings and other details.
With many blessings and heartfelt gratitude,
Rosemary
